Shiatsu is a Japanese healing art based on Eastern therapeutic principles and Western anatomy and physiology. Shiatsu is a whole-body treatment that can bring balance to all systems of the body and strengthen the body’s natural ability to heal and balance itself. It works on the whole person – not just a physical body, but also a psychological, emotional and spiritual being. A Shiatsu therapy session uses the fingers and palms to apply sustained, vertical pressure to acupoints throughout the body, penetrating gently but deeply to flush out accumulated toxins, promote the flow of blood and lymph, and restore optimal functioning to the internal organs, autonomic nervous system, and endocrine system. By limbering the muscles and freeing up the body's myofascial matrix, Shiatsu also facilitates increased range of motion
Pressure is applied with hands, thumbs, fingers, elbows, knees and feet and it is adjusted to each body type and condition. And allows the skeletal system to rediscover its natural alignment.

Some of the many benefits of Shiatsu Therapy include:
• Restore and maintain the body’s energy, especially helpful to those suffering from fatigue and overall weakness
• Improves circulation
• Reduces stress and tension as well as anxiety and depression
• Relief from headaches
• Promotes healing from sprains and similar injuries
• Helps bring relief to arthritis sufferers
• Reduces problems with stiff neck and shoulders as well as backaches (including sciatica)
• Coughs, colds, and other sinus and respiratory problems
• Helps those dealing with insomnia
• Aids in treatment of such various things as digestive disorders, bowel trouble, morning sickness, and menstrual problems

Hi! I’m Genevieve Mager. I am a Registered Shiatsu Therapist and a Certified Holistic Health Practitioner. I am registered with the Shiatsu Therapy Association of British Columbia and a member of the Natural Health Practitioners of Canada.

I have always had a strong commitment to health and well-being and understand the importance of the mind body soul connection. I found myself after over 20 years of working in an office environment feeling like I needed to follow my passion of helping others in a hands-on holistic way. I took a leave from my career and attended Windsong College of Healing Arts on Vancouver Island in March 2019. I whole heartedly embraced the program and knew throughout the duration of my time at school that I was exactly where I needed to be. I graduated in September 2020 with my Diploma as a Certified Holistic Health and Shiatsu Practitioner. Under my diploma I studied holistic therapies of; Shiatsu, Acupressure, Chinese Reflexology, AcuChi Jin Shin, Hot Waterstone Shiatsu and Energy Medicine. I am currently taking my 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training and am committed to always learning and expanding my modalities in Holistic Therapies.

I look forward to holding space for my clients to free their body from pain and tension, reduce stress and feel an increased sense of flow and ease throughout their body and mind.
